Dus kahaniyan is short and crisp. None of the stories linger long enough to bore you too much. But some stand out and some balk. Rice plate by Rohit Roy as predicted is excellent. It is the best in the pack. Shabana Azmi and Nasiruddin shah shine and sparkle. Next in line are strangers in the night, Puranmashi. Puranmashi is subtle and shattering. Amrita singh has always been a good actor. Here she gets her due.

In strangers in the night, Neha dhupia is good. More than the acting, the direction and the story hits you.

Rise and Fall is all sleek and not much soul. Still the moral of the story is what matters. Good watch only because it is only for ten minutes. Sanjay Dutt and Suniel shetty are well matched by their child artists.

Matrimony by Sanjay gupta is predictable. Mandira Bedi is average. Lovedale Is boring, zzzzzzzzzzzzz. Aftab is sleep walking. Before the idea settles on to you, you have moved on. Sex on beach is the only other story that would easily put you to sleep if only the direction was not so screechy. Dino looks and acts confused and zzzzzzzz. Me thinks  director, Apurva Lakiha who appears at the end of the story, shoud have acted instead.

One more damper is High on highway. This has been done before by Amir Khan in Raat, much more intensely. If I am forgetting any other short film please do not blame me.

On its side Dus Kahaniyan is a better attempt than Darna.. films. Watch it, you may not be blown away but you will definitely be shaken by some of the twists at the tail.
